Der Proletarier, the official periodical of the free trade unions in Luxembourg, appeared from 5 July 1919, replacing Die Volksstimme (1917-1919) and Der Gewerkschaftler (1917-1919).

The weekly paper prepared for the merger on 29 February 1920 of the “Association des mineurs et ouvriers métallurgistes” (BHAV) and the “Association des ouvrier métallurgistes luxembourgeois” (LMAV) to form the “Association des mineurs et métallurgistes industriels” (BMIAV).

A supplement, Der Betriebsrat, was published in 1921.
