On 1 July 1826, the first issue of Journal de la ville et du Grand-Duché de Luxembourg is published, promising to keep its readers informed of all the news from the province and the city of Luxembourg whose social utility merits publication. The newspaper publishes its last issue on 29 June 1844. It is replaced only four days later by the Courrier du Grand-Duché de Luxembourg.
